Nothing official, but the rumors are this is not going to be available at launch.

-How do I transfer files from my previous 2.5" HDD to a new, and bigger HDD if I want to switch?

Back em up to an external hard drive or USB and then transfer them back.

-When is the second shipment arriving?

Sony wants to ship 6 million by March 07, which means about 2 million per continent, shipments about every month.

-Can I use my computer monitor to run PS3 games?

You’ll probably need to grab a HDMi-DVI adapter to make the heads fit into the socket…

-How will PS3 games look on a normal TV?

It’ll be cool…not as good as HDTV that has all of the pixels.

-How do the discs load on a PS3?

Sony is using a front loader…no trays…you just stick the disc in and your PS3 sucks it up.

-If I buy a PS3 from one continent, will I be able to use that on other continents?

Yes, depending if that country uses the same tv format.

-What PS3 peripherals have been announced so far?

-How much will PS3 games cost based on current information?

5000 to 8000 yen in Japan, with an average of about 5900. In the US game prices will be locked at $59…which is about $59 Canadian. It will be slightly higher in Europe and other countries.

-What type of HDD should I use to upgrade my PS3?

The PS3 requires a 2.5” SATA HDD…laptop standard.

-How do I connect to the INTERNET wirelessly with the PS3?

The 60 gb model has built in WiFi. So you will receive internet signals instantly. Supports 802.11b and g. Data rates 11mbps and 54mbps. Will it support Super G? It doesn’t look like that is happening at launch. Remember, you will still need to have an internet connection thru a wireless router and/or modem.

-What about the 20gb model?

  1. Connect your PS3 directly to your modem

  2. Run a cat 5 cable from your router to your ps3,

  3. or buy a USB wireless adapter.

Either option will work.

-I have a SDTV only, will the PS3 still work?

It will still work you will just be seeing about 4 times less pixels.

What will ship with the package?

Will the PlayStation 3 have a camera?

Yes, The PS3 will have a High-Definition Internet Protocol camera. Capture will be the same output at as the PS3.

What kind of audio connections will be available?

Analog stereo, optical audio and HDMI output.

How about surround sound?

Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS are all supported and processed. Remember all audio is processed by the Cell and developers can use whatever audio codecs they want…so this is only the beginning.

What ports and external connections will the PlayStation 3 have?

On the 20GB: 4 USB 2.0 (front), Ethernet, optical audio out, HDMI out, and and AV multi-out (back)

On the 60GB: Includes inputs for Memory Stick, SD and CF cards in a flip-up door on the front of the console.

All other ports that Sony discussed like Dual HDMI were cut by Sony for cost reasons.

SIXAXIS Controller versus the PS2’s Dual Shock 2?

Looks are virtually the same, but…

SIXASIS is wireless Bluetooth 2.0 technology

The L2 and R2 buttons are now triggers.

Tilt technology: This means you will be viewing whatever angle you are holding the controller…SWEET!

But…No more rumble!

How long will the SIXAXIS battery hold out?

About 30 hours between charges…which is done by USB cable (included). The battery can not be removed.

What is the range on the wireless controller?

About 20 meters or 65 feet.

Will the old controllers be compatible with the PS3?

No…not without an adapter…which there has been no word on as of yet.

Will it come with hard drive included?

Yes…a 20GB or 60GB…serial ATA, like you find in most laptops.

What kind of disc drive will the system use?

It will be a slot loading…Blu-ray.

How fast will the optical disc drive be?

Blu-ray transfers at 36Mbps at 1X speed, or about 4.5MB per

sec., and the PlayStation 3 will feature a 2X drive, so it will transfer

data at 72Mbps or 9MB per second. It will read DVDs at 8X and CDs at 24X

speeds.

The single Cell will act like multiple processors. By using multiple Synergistic Processing Units which takes its instructions from a PowerPc Architecture Unit, one SPE may control a games AI while another handles the physics. Will the PS3 output 16:9 or HD video?

Yes. Resolutions up to and including 1080p.

Yes, as in 1920×1080 progressive, not interlaced. 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i

are also supported.

What video connections will be available?

Composite, S-Video and component thru AV cables, and of course HDMI, which will give you the best quality video.
